Yes, they eat ducks too
In my travels across the PPR this fall it seems like hawk abundance is very high. I suspect Swainson’s Hawks (shown) and Red-tailed Hawks had good production years. Young, fairly tame hawks seem to be everywhere.
Those two species mainly eat rodents, but they certainly take some nesting hens in the spring.
