Spring Snow/Ross's Season Closed at the End of May
The spring conservation season for Snow and Ross’s Geese closed in southern Manitoba on May 31st.
But virtually all adults had been long gone. A few young birds are still around as they separated from their parents in the southern prairies and migrate later than the breeding adults.
Yearling Snow Geese (left bird with some grey feathers) never breed, so there is no rush to get to arctic breeding areas.
