parkland nesters and north

Buffleheads are showing up near Bismarck on the larger wetlands. They rarely nest here in the prairies, but are common in parklands and boreal habitats.

Cool looking birds. My goal is to find a nest at Minnedosa this year, but that means hauling a ladder around and checking woodpecker holes.
